Emotional Wellness

An emotionally well person:

  • Appropriately expresses and controls his/her emotions
  • Possesses positive feelings about life and oneself

College life presents many challenges that can affect you emotionally.

Some students face challenges such as living away from parents and friends, lack of sleep, relationship issues, changes in eating habits, time management issues, or simply adjusting to college life.  These challenges, as well as others, can bring about intense emotions. It is important to develop the skills to control your emotions and express them in a productive way.

Some students may benefit from discussing emotional health concerns with a professional counselor at the Counseling Center.
