Study hard and play even harder. First year was super challenging yet really fun. I encourage everyone who sees this to always give it your best and enjoy what you're doing. Kiran Lakhian
Hometown | Toronto/Plano, TX
Alma mater(s) | Stanford University; Southern Methodist University
Advice for Pre-med Students:
Find what works best for you. Try to minimize comparing yourself to others because everyone studies so differently and there's so many resources... it could quickly get overwhelming. Also, being as disciplined to taking care of my mental, physical, and spiritual as I am to studying has been invaluable for me. Having a good sense of self-awareness, I know pretty well when I've been hitting the books too hard and the return on investment for studying has taken a down-turn... even if all my study goals for the day aren't complete, I'll take a guilt-free break to go fill up my cup. It's a marathon, not a sprint.

Advice for Pre-med Students:
It's a marathon, but it will feel like you're sprinting the whole time. Speaking about concepts with friends helps them stick in the form of memories. Help each other because you'll need help too. Ask for help. Find and outlet from stress. I don't worry about school during family time or workouts.
